iPhone 4 with firewire A1070 charger

Just found 3 of these Firewire A1070 chargers in storage. I had 3 iPod Mini's but the battery is shot in all of them so I had no use for the chargers.

I'd like to keep a spare charger on me when I am out.

Will there be any problem charging an iPhone 4 with this old charger?

Input AC 100-240V

50-60 Hz 17-24VA

Output 12V 67A

It's 12 volts and the iPhone 4 charger is 5 volts.

Will this damage the battery in my iPhone or will it just not charge.

Thanks

iPhone 4, Windows 7, 16gb.

The original iPhone was the only one that could be charged with a Firewire charger. No later models (including all iPads) can be; the Firewire pin in the dock connector is not connected to anything in the phone. If I were to guess, continuing to support Firewire charging would have required 2 separate charging circuits in the phone, and there just wasn't room, and little incentive, because all newer devices come with their own chargers.

The good news is that you can use an iPad charger to charge an iPhone. The reverse works also, but v e r y slowly.
