I purchased an iPhone 4s from someone that had Nex Tech wireless in Kansas and I just learned that Nex Tech does not offer unlocking

I was wondering what I could do. Its so frustrating. I can't take it to the store because Nex Tech is based in Kansas and I'm in Virginia. I appreciate the help.

DV: There are now 28 distinct carriers in the US that carry the iPhone. Of those, only AT&T and T-Mobile are GSM carriers. The rest are CDMA (though all but Sprint and Verizon are MVNO's).

NexTech is a CDMA carrier. They do not offer unlocking. The OP is hosed. They can either move to the area serviced by NexTech and establish service with them, sell the phone to someone who wants to use NexTech, or return the phone from whence they bought it for a refund.

Other than throwing it in the trash or leaving it in a drawer, those are pretty much the only realistic options.

If it was maufactured to be sold in the United States, it's either AT&T, Verizon, Sprint or T-Mobile. Once you know that, then you'll know how to proceed.

No only is that statement factually incorrect, it also completely ignores the fact that the OP ALREADY STATED what carrier the phone is for... Oh... and by the way... IT IS NOT ONE OF THOSE.

Your additional information neither adds to nor subtracts from the information I provided.

That's not possible because you did not prove ANY information AT ALL.
