Unable to power on

Reset iPad

Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

Note: Data will not be affected.

Maybe the battery is flat.

Is your battery charger working?

Make sure you hold the Sleep and Home button down together until you see the Apple Logo.

Even if the iPad is brand new the battery could be completely drained. Plug your iPad into the charger that came with it and plug that into a known good wall outlet. Be sure to also use your original cable. Let it charge for at least an hour. Then while still plugged in reset the iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

If that didn't help have an Apple technician look at it. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.
