Well I don't really know how I did it. I have HDTV, but don't recall buying an HDMI wire for it.

My friend got it for me and installed it. It was a bunch of white apple wires going into things. It cost me $50.

Might be best to go to a store that sells this stuff and ask someone to advise. I got it from best buy when my friend worked there and got a discount.

At any rate my iPad or iPhone can mirror what is on my devices, Netflix, YouTube, movies, music.

It can be done without HDMI and Apple TV.

The USB charger isn't what you use though


I have an apple USB thing, one goes into my receiver for the audio into my speakers and one into tv for picture. I can't look at it to tell you. Or what the name of the apple wiring I bought.

It charges my phone and iPad. It's not the lightning cord tho so I can't plug my iPad 4 into it.

I have Apple TV on my other tv.
