MIDI timeouts across 4 programs

Recently bought a brand new macbook pro, I've tried to run Garageband, Reason, Logic and Pro Tools and all 4 of them seem to have major problems with MIDI drivers, Logic takes a while to load and then goes "logic pro has detected a midi timeout", Reason says "Failed to open MIDI library" and Garageband says something similar, I can't use those 3 programs at all and Pro Tools gets stuck for about 10 minutes before it'll run. I haven't been trying to use any MIDI devices so I'm confused as to why this is an issue. Also my MIDI Drivers folder is empty, have I deleted anything important there? How do I repair it? Thanks
