Download remaining emails from Comcast server?

I had a puzzling thing happen and was wondering if anyone can provide some input. Beginning around 6:00 PM on October 2nd and lasting until 4:56 AM on Octorber 5th, my Comcast emails stopped getting downloaded to my Apple Mail program on my laptop and desktop. It was being retreived on my iPhone and the emails still show up on the server if I look at them on the Comcast website. Is there a was to "retrieve messages from server" in Mail like there was in Entourage? Has anyone else had this issue?

Mac Pro, OS X Mountain Lion, Model 5,1/2.4 GHz/8 core (mid 2010)

Eric,

Thanks for the input. I don't think it is anything with my settings; they haven't changed and emails resumed being delivered without me doing anything. I had just noticed that there were emails I had seen on my phone weren't in the inbox of Mail on my laptop or desktop so was just wondering if there is a way to trigger the emails that are on the Comcast server but not downloaded to by Mail programs to be delivered.

You can try reindexing the mailbox so that what is/isn't there is updated.. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.

I have the exact same problem, Norm. Have you found a solution? For Eric, will reindexing messages do anything to items in my Mail inbox that have previously been downloaded from the Comcast server?

I tried the reindexing but the messages did not show up. I ended up forwarding the critical messages from my iPhone to my @me.com account. That is the first time I've had something like that happen in many years of using Comcast and Mail. Very odd.
