I need to reset my airport extreme and all that comes up is Rescan

I am trying to reset my airport extreme so I can get a wifi signal to my iPad 3. Our electricity was off and our cable/internet service was off for 5 hours. I am getting internet to my iMac, but am having trouble not getting wifi to my iPad3. All the airport extrene wants to do is "Rescan". The manual set up and continue buttons are gray and cannot be clicked on. Hope someone can help.
