Q: ios 7 restore error 1

Try to Restore iPhone on different computer. If still problem, and if there is Warranty or AppleCare, make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution.

Are you restoring the latest version of iOS?

A few other things to try:

Update iTunes, change USB port, restart computer, possibly uninstall and reinstall iTunes.

I have the exact same problem while restoring my iphone 5

Hey i have the Same Problem with my iPhone 4S and 4. the restore Ends at 60 % with error 1 (not -1).

I reinstall iTunes, download iOS 7.0.3 as ipsw and No success :(

I Think that is a problem of the iTunes or firmware versions :/.

You most likely have a hardware problem (I am assuming you have never jailbroken your iPhone or rolled back the OS). Make a Genius Bar appointment.

No i Never Jailbreak my iphones or try some downgrades. But it is very strange that two iphones at the Same Time have the same problem :/

Baseband chip?

I had the same problem:

"Searching..". error, then it cycled through 3G no 3G then searching...

Tried updating software... no luck

so tried to restore from recovery mode

Then got first "error 1" at the firmware stage (after trying all ports and ca 10 times to restore on two different computers with multiple resets and software updates etc)

Then I held the home button until the "connect to itunes screen" went away whilst plugged in which brought up iTunes

and the error changed to "error 3", but still stalled at the firmware stage

Then I cycled through the ports again and the very back one worked! Hooray! Points for persistence.

I now have a factory restored phone which has connected to the network!

pleaseeeee how do you cycle through the ports idgi please help im desperate

just move the usb connection from one port to another, I honestly did this about 15 times

seriously it works? even with 2 usb ports? did you try on a computer, also my lock button has broken do i need this to fix it?

I have 4 ports, but I imagine it will work. Is your phone in recovery mode now? Can you hold down the home button?

yeah it's in recovery mode now nothing happens when I hold down the home button
