Photo Booth amputed Pop Art effect

Everything just run fine on my iMac G5 iSight PowerPC, updated to Mac OS X 10.4.7 two days ago… But then opening Photo Booth I discovered that the Pop Art effect is much more less Pop than before: it displays ONLY one rectangle the red one, but all three others are just missing. they don't display, and Pop Art effect doesn't show a proper functionnality. I wonder if you encountered the same minor but annoying problem.

Is it a case of legacy with Andy Warhol children?

I also just download 10.4.7 and only one of the pop art quadrant is available. I've rebooted half a dozen times and then unplugged to reset. Nada. What's up? Ghost of Andy?

Started on a Mac OS X partition, running Mac OS X 10.4.6 and…
Pop Art effect in Photo Booth (version 1.0) works perfect as it is supposed to…
So I have a doubt: Did Mac OS X 10.4.7 (Delta version, PPC) break the Pop Art effect in Photo Booth or not? Well, maybe!
I should apply the Mac OS X 10.4.7 (Combo version, PPC), and tell more.
In the meanwhile if anybody has a solution…

Reapplied Mac OS X 10.4.7 combo update (PPC) to try to repair the Pop Art effect in Photo Booth: still broken.
Tried to reisntall the "Booth" receipt pacakage: still broken.

Looks like a 10.4.7 bug. I'm seeing the exact same problem. Is there anyone out there that updated to 10.4.7 that does not see this problem?

Hi Alfredo

I have a MacBook Pro and see Pop Art as it should be.

I would use the instructions in this FAQ http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=121719 to reinstall PhotoBooth.

It might be possible t do the Easy Way as I have not checked.

If not Pacifist should be used to extract it

I've this problem too. I haven't found something that could help on another (french speaking) forum (macgeneration).
How could we submit this bug to Apple for them to fix it ???

Dear Ralph, this here is not related to iChat AV neither to Mac Intel, so happy to hear that there is still a Pop Art Effect on Mac Intel machines, but configuration described was on iMac G5 PPC Mac OS X 10.4.7 both Delta and Combo updates applied. I cannot see why there should be any reason to reinstall iChat AV, and I do not give this advice as long as iChat AV and Photo Booth are simply not the same program!!!

Hi talking head,

Photobooth is related to internal iSight computers which include Intels. It is thre only machines it comes on.

The FAQ although written for iChat reinstall tells you (if you change the items you are looking for) how to extract anything from the Install disk.

I was suggesting that you use this information to do this.

I was not suggesting that you reinstall iChat but should apply the method described to reinstall Photobooth.

This seems to be only an issue with the G5 imacs, the intel macs luckily have a better version then the ppc owners. We are suck with the 1.0 version. There is a discussion http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=546060
For some reason apple updated the intel version but not us G5 owners which is a little upsetting. So we have to wait for them to put out an update 😟
