Track numbers not appearing in numerical order.

Some tracks in my iTunes music library do not appear in numerical order since the iOS 7 update, does anyone else have he same issue with their library, have re-enabled iTunes Match, this corrected the fault temporarily but re-appeared after deleting some tracks.

There is a solution to this but it isn't idea, especially if you have a lot of music content on your iPad, but here goes.

Open the Music App, select the Album which isn't showing in Track order and then double click the home button and swipe up to close the Music App. Then Tap the Music App to reopen it and it should now appear in the right order after a very brief refresh.

I did have this issue myself John and in the end I reset my iPad to factory settings and copied music over from iTunes to my iPad and it all now appears in order as it should - this issue only came about following an iCloud restore after I wanted to test some things bugging me after installing iOS 7 on my iPad.

This is obviously a big step, but if you've got your music library in iTunes it shouldn't take too long to complete and will leave you with the desired result.

Also, if you connect your iPad in its current state to iTunes you may have a similar issue that I experienced when I did a previous backup from iCloud: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4874274 I've come to the conclusion that while brilliant for backing up most things iCloud seems to be very poor at the 'restore' process for music.

Hi Steve, the issue with track order seems to have resolved itself without the intervention you suggested, there are however other issues with the new version of the music player and the interaction with iTunes in general which you may or may not have come across recently, I do not expect you to supply an answer to these, I think going forward Apple need to acknowledge these and rectify them in turn, for instance, when downloading new tracks from say, Amazon, the tracks do not appear on the iPad and/or iPhone but successfully appear on your Apple TV airplay listing, necessitating a re-boot on the former devices, before the update time was when you had to logout and login again on the Apple TV to see the album artwork you had so painstakingly worked on to appear, this process has now been speeded up so that the artwork appears immediately with the tracks, however the iPad app crashes if it is presented with too much hard work to process, have you experienced this at all.

John
