1. How do I add a public counter to my site so I can tell how many people actually are viewing it?
2. How can I add Babelfish (Altavista Translation service into many lanuages) to my site so that overseas clients will be able to view site in their language. It is available in html, but I do not know how to add html coding to my site.
TIA

If you are using "Publish to .Mac" the easiest thing you can do is to add the Apple counter. I believe that it is under the "Insert" menu, "Buttons", "Hit Counter."

If this doesn't give you enough information, then I would highly recommend StatCounter.com. This will take some post-publishing editing of the html files, but the process can be automated with tools such as iComment or MassReplaceIt.

Make a text box on your site where you want to put the babelfish code, the same size as the graphic or whatever it is you are inserting.Place it where you want it to show up on the site.

Type BABELFISHCODE in the box.

Then, publish.

Now here's the post-publishing part.

Mount your iDisk.

To view the code in an HTML file, choose File > Open and select "Ignore rich text commands." Then locate the file and click Open. It will be located at YouriDisk/Web/Sites/iWeb/Sitename/Pagename.html

You can set up TextEdit so that it always opens HTML files as plain text and reveals the code. To do this, choose TextEdit > Preferences and click "Open and Save." Under "When opening a file," select "Ignore rich text commands in HTML files."

In the html file, find BABELFISHCODE. (You should be able to do a search for it) Then paste the html code from Babelfish in its place.

If you make changed to your page in iWeb, you will have to do this Find/Replace all over again. I suggest MassReplaceIt. http://www.hexmonkey.brownhost.com/

Good luck!
