Q: Will Authentec Truesuite be updated for 10.9?

I believe Apple purchased parts of Authtic. Anyone have any clue if Authentec Truesuite for the Mac will be updated or will work in 10.9 Mavrick?

Excuse the post, I didn't know where to ask!

Hello and thanks for the reply. At this point option A does not look feasible as I am pretty sure that I disabled remote login via SSH. Therefore looks like option B is the way to go however would you please be so kind as to explain what this commandline does and once executed what my next steps are after rebooting. Thanks.

At this point in time my iMac is pretty hosed so I don't want to go any further down the rabbit hole unless I know what I'm doing. Thanks again bye.

    @Dorje1

Why don't you simply read the previous posts? I explained the whole solution steps on page 3, even before RGab named this "Plan B".

@yreiser. I have read the previous posts. Including your fix on page 3. I also replied to you stating:

    ...

Thanks. Followed your instructions and was able to create a new user account. Had I not previously removed the true suite icon from my System preferences I'd be fine. Here's where it gets tricky. I was able to login as the new user and download the true suite UnInstaller for the last known OS. It mounted and ran. Thought I had a fix on my hands but in doing this I realize that I've created a bigger problem. Now when I reboot, I get the apple plus an infinite loupe spinning wheel.

    ...

Unless you know any other ideas, I'll just grab my files in target mode and reload the OS from scratch.

@Dorje1 - I did something very simmilar to you, and also was faced with the infinite spinning loop.  Option B suggested by RGab worked for me.

Typing the instructions on a retina dispay at native resoltuon was tricky, but worked like a charm.

Well after numerous hours spent trying to sort the Mavericks login loop I received word from AppleCare that their engineers had evaluated my logs and determined the culprit was True Suite. I ended up having to restore to a Mountail Lion time machine backup, uninstall the Authentec app then proceed with Mavericks install. Trying to delete or uninstall it from within Mavericks was an utter failure. So much for incompatible apps being moved to folder when upgrading OSX versions! Hopefully the engineers at Apple resolve this and fix it in future Mavericks update! OP thank you for thread!

@JohnWys - Glad Option B worked for you. Since it did, even though I do not understand what RGab told us to do -- I did it and I'm typing this reply from my iMac. A big thanks to you and all those who contributed to this post and helped me get back to work. Cheers!

    Hey guys,

thanks so much!! ive been having this infinite login loop problem too.I thought it might be truesuite!!!

I really need something like this on my imac though for work (PCI Compliance..) so what alternatives do you guys suggest? Preferrably something that will give me two stage authentication, in otherwords both finger scan AND password (since with True Suite i only managed one or the other but never both..)

Also does anyone have the install for true suite? the company/link i got it from some months ago no longer exists!

    Thanks guys!!

Have a look at the link given at the beginning of this thread. Page one or two. Worked for me.

    1. I updated my mac mini to Maverick without uninstalling TrueSuite first (not knowing that this will become a problem).
    2. I could only log in with the Guest account.
    3. I uninstalled TrueSuite from the image (using the link in this forum)
    4. Now my machine does not boot anymore (takes forever, no login screen appearing)
    5. I am not able to boot in safe or restore mode (maybe because I do not have an Apple keyboard)

    Any ideas?

    Kind regards,

    Willi

wfauma I had to restore to a time machine Mountain Lion back up and uninstall True Suite then upgrade to Mavericks.

So if I just disable the Fingerprint Log On function then I should be able to install Mavericks and continue to use my Eikon reader for authorization and web logon without any problems?

@lodeke10 - The previous version of TrueSuite is not compatible with Mavericks. Myself and many others found out the hard way. Run the TS un-installer first. Then upgrade to Mavericks.

    Wfauma,

Go back in this thread and follow the instructions provided by RGab, they solve the problem without having to reinstall a clean version of the OS or use a Time Machine backup.  Worked like a champ for me.

I found out the hard way too I had to restore my MBP and i'm now back on Lion. I really like my Eikon so i'm looking for a way to keep at least some of its functionality when I upgrade to Mavericks. Hugouz mentioned earlier in this thread that it's possible to run the TrueSuite software on Mavericks as long as you turn the Fingerprint Log On function off, so i'm just wondering if anyone can confirm if this true.

I really enjoyed TrueSuite on Lion also, but not worth the hassle I went through when upgrading to Mavericks. Unless they come out with a TS update for Mavericks, I would not risk it. Good luck!
