Yes, you need to change malfunction memories with new ones.

You'd better check your memories with Apple Hardware Test or MemTest.

Apple Hardware Test and MemTest I can not complete . it freezes and restarting my mac(with error report).

which one I need to change, all 8 RAM??

now I removed 6RAM and now I trying to test 2remaining RAM with Rember.

That appears to be a report of an uncorrectable (double-bit) memory error. That repaort was unable to directly identify which module produced the error.

Single-bit ECC errors are detected and corrected on the fly, with little slowdown, but may be noted later in a System Profiler pane, like this one:

Soemetimes modules that produce errors during the Power-On Self test will be mapped out, and their sockets will show a "Empty" when they are not.

I have tested my all 8 RAMs and everything with all my RAM memorry was ok.

but problem now is that, when I put RAM in the 8. slot only, my mac dont starts at all. in another slots no problem.

it looks like my motherboard have error ?? and has problem with 8.RAM slot....

what can I do now ? change motherboard?

You understanding of memory problems is incomplete. Memory errors have always been very difficult to detect and isolate. It may take DAYS of running tests to isolate the problem, and sometimes requires additional steps as well.

If you have run memory tests, all you can conclude is that no memory errors were detected during your testing. Your memory is not "FINE" just because you ran a test.

Your Mac is not designed to run one DIMM in slot 8 only, with all other slots empty. If that is what you were testing, it is not at all surprising that it did not work.

If you are reporting that the DIMM in slot 8 is not recognized, that is a common side-effect of a DIMM failure, and you have found your defective module. Remove it and your Mac should run normally.

so now I insert all 8 ram memory in my mac pro slots.

and have inserted original apple hardware test dvd

and run full test 4h long.

and after this test it says:

Test Results:

No trouble found

its interesting, may be i have prevented some problem with contacts.

I still hope that the problem can now be only with my osx not mac pro hardware.

I hope the problem is solved.

I hope that the mac pro will no more restarting.

The kernel panic that led you to post here was a Machine-check, status 4, uncorrected error. That is an uncorrectable Hardware memory error.

Apple is infamous for only testing what is readily available for sale on the day of release of a new system, and NEVER updating the specs again, EVER.

This site indicates your machine can use up to 96GB in Mac OS X, and 128GB in Linux:

The nature of the failure initially reported is that a word was read out of memory and its check bits indicated it contained an uncorrectably bad pattern. Your Machine has a Bad DIMM, and you need to remove and/or replace it with a good one.

Since the eighth DIMM was reported "not present" in the panic report, I nominate the eighth DIMM as bad.
