Buying the ADC to DVI adapter: DVI-d, or i

I was looking to hook a 20" Sony LCD to my Apple Dual G5 2.5 ghz with the stock graphics card in it.

Currently, I have an Apple Cinema Widscreen 20" hooked up via DVI calbe. The other free port is an ADC.

So, naturally I look for the adapter, which it is available for 30 bucks.

However, looking at the reviews. I'm noticing someone said something about it not working with DVD-d. Is this true?

The monitor I would like to hook up requires DVI-d.

Graphics Card: ATI Radeon 9600 XT Chipset

G5 Dual 2.5ghz (not core), Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Your Sony monitor is a TV, it's not a multisync/multiscan devices like a computer monitor is.

Computers output DVI-I, you will need a computer monitor.

It can be made to work but it it will look like junk.

sorry

Clone that boot drive, learn how by visiting the free Carbon Copy Cloners forums for the best tips and donationware software. Hold option boot from the clone, repair, recover or reverse clone over your original boot drive.

It will save your bacon one day. No comp of course, just a concern that people should be backing up their data before a hard drive dies on them.
