What version of Mac OS X, what browser?

If you are running Safari, click on Safari in the menu bar and select Preferences. In the new pane, click on the  Security icon.

In Web content: check the box next to Block pop-up windows.

If Safari is not your browser, please post back with more info.

    Hi Joan,

Is there a particular one that is a nuisance.  If so, post back with the name.
