How to log out of iCloud when I've changed my Apple ID?

Hey all,

So here's the issue I'm having. And currently it feels like a paradox.

I changed my Apple ID from a@b.com --> x@y.com. On my phone however I hadn't changed anything. Now when I get onto my phone, I'm prompted a lot that I needed to log into my apple account with ID a@b.com.. I've been able to fix this for other services (Facetime, iMessage, Game Center, etc..) by simply logging out, and signing back in with my new ID... All except for iCloud.

When I click on iCloud in my phone, there is no 'Sign Out' option. The only option I'm given is to 'Delete Account'. When I try do that, it tells me that I need to sign in to my account (with old ID) to turn off the 'Find my iPhone' feature before deleting the account.. Which I can't do, because that ID doesn't exist anymore..

I have a feeling this is a bug, or a logical mishap, but I ask if I've missed something.

Apple support is a joke! I have had the same issue on both my ipad and now my iphone 5S. I changed my primary email on my apple ID since I changed jobs. Now I do not have access to my old apple id email, so CANNOT verify it if I change it back. THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO COMPLETELY WIPE YOUR PHONE /IPAD AND START OVER!! YOU CANNOT RESTORE EITHER BECAUSE THE PROBLEM WILL JUST RETURN!

Apple support says the same WRONG advice EVERY TIME! because THEY DO NOT HAVE A SOLUTIONS BECAUSE THEIR PROGRAMMERS ARE TOO INCAPABLE OF FIGURING IT OUT!!! This has been going on for MONTHS!! no resolution! I am going to be going over to Samsung from now on! Never buy an I-product again. Disgraceful and shame on apple.

APPLE LOGIC

1. Change your username/email back to the old one, of course they always fail to mention that you have to validate that email with a code that will be sent to that email address which you no longer have access to

2. Use the password for the old username on the new username --- ummm.. nope...

3. Turn off find my iphone and then delete the account on the phone...umm.. to turn off find my iphone, need to log in with OLD username and password...morons!!!

I swear to god, whoever trains the apple support staff should be fired!

WRONG. If you have recently used an email address as your Apple ID you do not have to verify it again when you switch back to it, unless you never verified it when you were initially prompted to.

And if you have a problem, just contact Apple's Account Security Team: Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security
