Voicemail keeps undeleting and crashing with iOS 7... Any ideas?

After updating my iPhone 5 to iOS 7, when I open visual voicemail and try to listen to a message, the phone/voicemail app will freeze, crash, or otherwise take several minutes to play a message. Frequently, when I try to delete a message, the app will become unresponsive for long periods of time. And, after deleting messages, they will automatically undelete and come back - I have to delete a message sometimes between three and ten times before the message will stay deleted. Any ideas? Voicemail was working fine with iOS 6. These problems started immediately after updating to iOS 7, and even after the update to 7.0.2.

visual voice mail is not really a native part of the ios it's a carrier app

don't even think it exist in the country I live so maybe it's a question of your carrier updating their service ?

Once I deleted my old voicemail deleted messages all worked fine. I had 1200 deleted messages, so it took about 30 minutes. i think when i upgraded it somehow pulled back all my old deleted voicemail messages.

Hello jk872......i have the exact same issue but do not see a real solution disucssued in responses to your post. Have you discovered any solutions for this issue?

I have the same problem! I am a Verizon customer, is it possible that you are as well. Someone suggested that the visual voicemail is not a part of iOS but like you, mine worked just FINE until the upgrade to 7. Now it is a real problem and causing me to think about getting non-Apple phone.
