My husband connected iphone to my Mac and now all is lost

My husband needed to connect to iTunes, so he hooked it up to my Mac and my iTunes. My mac hasn't been working right since. I can't use the translucent menu bar anymore, among other things, even though the box is checked. It seems like everything is different and I've had to reset everything. Can someone help me?
