Q: I need a driver for a FireWire Camera. Any suggestions?

Hi folks,

I have an AVT GuppyPro F503C Firewire Camera that I wish to use with my MacBook Pro (Snow Leopard). Astro IIDC is out of business. IOExperts driver didn't work either. Any software suggestions?

The camera is connected via C-mount to an Olympus BX53 microscope.

All I need is a driver/viewer to be able to port images from this camera to my laptop.

Macs have built in firewire video support. Try opening iMovie to view the camera images. Or, you can purchase the Pro version of Quicktime 7 (irrc $20). It allows you to record external video as well.
