how to create a contact group on iphone

New to iPhone 5

Would like to create a group "Balloon Chase Crew" and add the names and phone numbers of crew members.

How do I do this?

Need to be able to bring up the group to search for crew members as needed.

I will want to be able to phone up individuals and not the whole group.

Can this be done?

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.2

Well, we all know by now that we have to go through iCloud which I do not want to do. I just want a handful of phone numbers on my phone - not my entire contact list. So what I have done is set up my own system with the contacts I do want on my iPhone. I put the entire first and last name on the First name line. I put my Group name on the Last name line. Works for me!

Guessing your going to the ballon feasta in ABQ, ill be going there as well 🙂. Anyways this isnt really possible but theres a little bit of a way to do this, its through favorites. What you can do is head into your phone app then contacts and tap the contact you want in the group and scroll down and tap add to favorites, do this for each person. When you finish tap on the very bottom where it says favorites. Thats the only way i can really think of it. Another option is to go to google.com/contacts and make an account or use an existing one but then add each contact in there that you want. Now go on the iPhone and head into settings then into mail, contacts, and calendars and then tap add account then tap other and then chose Add CardDAV account in the server field put google.com and for user name and password put your google email and password then tap next. and finish it off. Now when you go to contacts in phone or contacts app tap at the top where it says groups and then unselect the icloud or other options except for the google one you just added now tap done. It should show the contacts you added online, to bring back your old contacts simply go back to that same menu and select icloud and the other ones then tap done. Tell me if this helps you or solves your issue!
