Q: Did not realize I needed to "accept" the complimentary upgrade. Very frustrating.

Any ideas or is this the time to change to gmail?

All ex-MobileMe subscribers got complimentary extra storage over a year ago - this was automatic and no action was necessary. This upgrade expired on September 30, reverting subscribers to the free 5GB unless they took steps to buy additional storage.

 

So you had the complimentary storage for this time but it has now expired. If you want additional storage you will have to purchase it:
