Reset iPad

Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

Note: Data will not be affected.

You can reset it by pressing and holding both the Home and Power keys for around 10-15 seconds. If you see the red slider during this just ignore it and continue to hold the power and home keys. Once your iPad turns of and comes back up with the Apple Logo, you can then release both keys and allow the iPad to continue to load back up. After that it has restarted and should return to working order for you.

Hi,

My iPad (4th Generation, Warranty expired) Stopped working suddenly. I tried all the steps listed in the discussion: Power + Home Button 10 Secs, also tried to restore through iTunes and then I got 4014 error. I changed USB Cable, USB port even changed the PC (MAC and Window), but it is not turning on. Its not even one and half year completed to this product. I took this iPad to Apple store and service girl out there just saw 4014 error and said I need to replace this thing with another iPad. Thats not worth, so expensive products even dnt last for 2 years. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

I have a 4th generation as well. Purchased October 2012. After 1 and a half years, it just stopped working. I got a blue screen and after trying to reboot it a few times, it just went dead. Took it to Apple store and was told to get another one. Do these break down that quickly or is mine an exception? Has anyone else had the same problem?
