Can my credit card information be stolen if I buy an app?

I just purchased an app that turned out to be a scam and that it did nothing that it advertised in the app store. Now I'm scared that whoever made the app might have my credit card information. So am I out a few dollars or should i be concerned about my credit card info to be stolen and abused.
