Q: troubleshoot time machine

I recieved the following message. Any idea what to do?

 

"Backup disk image "/volumes/timecapsule/macbook.sparsebundle" is already in use

 

This is the error message I get when the automatic backup fails.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), Backup Fails

    The last backup did not shut down properly I think is the cause..

     

    Anyway the solution is simply.. restart the TC..

     

    Pull out the power cord.. count to 10.. plug in power again.

     

    If that doesn't work .. about 2% of cases there is something more complicated.. ask again.
