Apple TV "ready to play in x minutes"

Ever since updating the atv os it won't stream any of my purchased movies, tv shows, or rentals. I get a message like "ready to stream in 3 hours 21 minutes" or "your apple tv is not connected to the internet". I've restarted and restored the atv twice, and I regularly get anywere around 30 to 40 mpbs on my download speed. Also I have had no issue streaming content from Netflix or Hulu on the atv. Please help, otherwise I'm going to have to go to the apple store and try to exchange the atv.
