How do I move playlists on PC (Windows 7) to ipod classic?

Recently copied 3000+ songs (music from CDs and 200 songs purchased through iTunes) from external drive to new PC. I set up new playlists and then plugged in ipod to update music. Unfortunately, music on ipod was erased. I tried updating ipod using sync and then manually update by selecting playlists. Neither option worked. The only songs on ipod are those puchased from iTunes. When I selected sync music, it indicates 3000+ song.

Any idea how I can move the playlists to ipod and restore music?

Thx
