Hi Mrs. Samit,

I just wanted to let you know that yes you can share between two devices that have different iTunes accounts as long as you are on the same home group or home network.

My wife & I are sharing between both of or iTunes accounts which both have different login credentials.

After configuring sharing in both iTunes accounts all you then have to do is login into either your account if you just want to listen to your own or login to the other persons account on your iOS device or any iOS device that you setup sharing on to listen to the music they have purchased. You can even copy the other persons media into your own account so then you wouldn't have to login to their account until they purchased more media in which you would like also.

When you purchase a song you can legally share it with anyone in your own household/family. There is nothing illegal about sharing with family or household members.

If you think about it we all used to be able to share music with each other when all we had at the time was CD's or cassette tapes or even the old 8-tracks because we purchased the media outright. You just cannot resell your media for profit or play it in like a marketing campaign for business without paying royalties to the songs owner.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could get paid royalties also every time our employer's made money off the work we did at one time or another. If you think about it there really isn't no difference except that Singers and Stars think they are self employed when in all actuality they are employees also they just have big egos & Would never admit it. LOL.

Actually, you can, & millions of users do exactly that. In fact, the terms/conditions permit such with up to five users in the same household.

Carolyn's post is incorrect.

Do you & your wife have separate Apple ID's for iTunes? Do you share the same computer...different computers? Answers those questions & I'll tell you want to do.

Then all you have to do is authorize the computer for each of your respective Apple ID's. Sign in to iTunes using your wife's ID, then: Store>Authorize this Computer. I'm assuming the computer is already authorized for your ID. Then, when each of you want to sync, just make sure you're signed in to the proper iTunes account & sync whatever you like to each phone. Only thing you need to be aware of is that apps have to be updated using whatever ID was used to purchase them.

I have a similar problem, and have followed your suggestions with great success.

We both have seperate itunes accounts and both share the same login on our computer (although I could create a login for her if it would be better).

As I said, setting up her phone worked great, I could add all of my music, and select the apps I already had to put on her phone, etc. However, now I cannot log back into my account from itunes on our computer, I just get an error saying iTunes is not available at this time.

My phone also started asking for her itunes details each time I went to the App store / itunes on my phone, but I've changed this back to me.

So, my question is, how do I get back into itunes on my computer? Should it be possible to keep swapping accounts?

wjosten,

Me and my wife have seperate apple id's and she uses a PC to sync and I use a MacBook. We use to share but both tired of eachothers apps and certain downloads being added to our iphone's. Plue everytime we synced it messed one of iphones apps and folders up. So, we are using seperate apple id's. We have a 2 year old and I purchase kids music and kid tv shows. Is there a way to get this on her iphone?

thanks!

Coming up on similar problem.

Windows 7 desktop

Two AppleID accounts, with one iphone 6 for each

ID#1 is used mainly to upload music to the desktop/itunes library

I can load songs and Tones onto iPhone associated with ID#1 without any issue. Itunes will not let me load songs onto iPhone associated with ID #2.

I have authorized computer from both ID's already.

Any advice on now my wife and i can both get our songs?
