NEED TO KNOW HOW TO TRANSFER ULTRAVIOLET TO ITUNES!!!!! ASAP!!!

WE DO NOT LIKE THIS ULTRA VIOLET DIGITAL DOWNLOAD. AFTER DOWNLOADING THEM TO A IPOD AND DON'T WATCH THEM WITHIN A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME THEY EITHER FREEZE, OR HAVE A DOWNLOAD FAILURE. IF YOUR BATTERY DIES YOUR SCREWED AND HAVE TO RE-DOWN THEM ONCE AGAIN HOWEVER, THERE A CATCH; YOU CAN ONLY DO THAT THREE TIMES AND THEN GET A MESSAGE YOU HAVE REACHED YOUR DOWN LIMIT.

WE LOVE HOW YOU CAN DOWNLOAD DIGITAL COPIES TO TUNES. HERE THERE IS NO PROBLEMS AND YOU CAN EVEN COPY YOUR MOVIES FROM ITUNE TO A EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE SO THAT YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR MOVIES ON YOUR PORTABLE DEVICE WHENEVER YOU WANT.

SO NOW AFTER SAYING THAT.

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW I CAN GET MY 140 DIGITAL MOVIES TRANSFERED FROM ULTRA VIOLET TO MY ITUNES ACCOUNT SO I CAN CONTINUE WITH ITUNES. PLEASE!!!!!!

Please don't post all in caps. That's considered to be "shouting" on the Internet and just makes things harder to read.

You cannot transfer or convert an Ultraviolet movie to iTunes. You can only play them via the Flixster app. If you want the movies in iTunes, you'll have to ask the movie studio if they can give you a redemption code for the iTunes Store - unlikely - or buy the movies again.

Regards.

I'm also frustrated with UltraViolet and would like to transfer my movies to iTunes. I found a video a young man posted on YouTube where he explains a process to get a copy of your movies from Flixster that will work in iTunes. I, personally, haven't tried it yet, but will give it go soon.

It appears that if you rattle Flixster's cage about it, they will send you a DVD of the movie with a code to enter into iTunes.

Here's the link to the video...

I don't like UltraViolet either - I used to buy BluRays with digital copies for iTunes (or Windows media player), then the major studios shifted for the most part to UV copies only with the discs. I can't play UV via my AppleTV (at least without messing around with Airplay), and really don't want to use competing systems.

I think this was simply the movie studios wanting to take some power away from Apple/iTunes which as usual with studios exercising their 'rights management' only causes annoyance to the customer who actually pays for their movies, while those who get them nefariously carry on regardless.

In some ways it makes me wonder about the future of my purchases from iTunes if the public eventually switch to UV in years to come.

The one area where UV is a plus for many is that it will work on Android phones whereas Apple do not currently offer that.

From a couple of searches in the past I don't think you can still get itunes codes for UV movies - they used to offer people an itunes code if they didn't want UV but that no longer seems to be the case.

You should send the UV people some feedback too.

I don't understand why the UV pages still have 'Beta' plastered all over them - perhaps they think their own system isn't ready for prime time yet.

They were supposed to be releasing a 'common file format' whcih allowed downloads to be made and copied from one device to another - see:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UltraViolet_(system)

No idea if that is yet available or just planned.

I reluctantly signed up to UV/Flixster the other day as I had a BluRay with a digital copy code that was going to expire.

The UV file format also seems to suggest they may offer HD audio tracks which iTunes files currently don't.
