Canceling on hearing aid bluetooth device no longer stops playing
I wear Oticon hearing aids and connect to my iPhone 5 via an Oticon ConnectLine(TM) device. The music connection -- both on and off -- is controlled with a a little button on the front of the bluetooth device with a music symbol. Press it, and my aids beep, letting me know that I'm connected to my iPhone. I can then play music or, more likely, podcasts.
Prior to the iOS 7.0.2 upgrade, clicking the button off had the exact same function as disconnecting the physical headphone connection -- playback stopped. However, after the upgrade, the Podcast app continues to play the file -- with the sound going nowhere -- after I've canceled the connection on my bluetooth device. It still tracks along, ultimtely reaching the end and then, as I've set the preferences this way, deleting the file from my iPhone.
My wife has the same phone on the same OS, but sans hearing aids. She checked the Podcast app with her physical headpones, and the podcast media file stopped playing when she unplugged. So the software is working, it's just no longer recognizing that a hearing aid disconnect is the same as a physical headphone disconnect.
And I really need it to.
