Apple TV does not see my Computer

I have Apple TV 3 installed with the software update. My iPad 2 and iPhone 4S are both running iOS7. The Apple TV is connected

to the wireless router (ASUS RT-660U) on the 5GHZ, so is the iPad2, iPhone4S is on the 2.4GHZ and my Computer is on the Wired LAN.

So far, Apple TV connects to the iTunes Store, U-Tube,iCloud, Neflix etc, but does not connect to abything on my home network. I have gone through the

setting for Port Forwarding, and allowing the Ports on my Firewall (ESET Security). I've tried even disabbling the Firewall for a while.

Nothing seems to make the Apple TV connect to Home Sharing. The only thing that I have not tried is having the Apple TV on my LAN.

The iTunes on my computer confirms that Home Sharing is enabled, but no connections.

What else I'm I missing ?? I installed the Remote App on the iPad and it can see the Apple TV and even control it, so the iPad can see the Apple TV, but not the other way around. What else do I need to check ?

Thanks.

I have a similar problem - I have (2) Apple TVs that have been both working fine until the past few days - now neither one can see my library on home sharing. My home sharing is definitely on in my itunes account, but all of a sudden neither Apple TV device can see that it is on.

I read something this morning that suggested that I restore the Apple TV device with a micro USB cable, which I did but it still does not see my library and indicates that I need to turn home sharing on. I have done all updates on both I-Tunes and on both Apple TV devices. Any Ideas?

Thanks Diesel V Dub - My router is a simultaneous dual band and it treats the two bands separate. To compound the issue, the wired Lan is also treated separately. I have the iPad2 and the Apple TV on the 5G radio though. Can I at the very least have Home Share between the iPad2 and the Apple TV ?

I cannot find a way to force my router to treat the two bands and the LAN as the same Network.

Yes, HomeSharing is enabled on everything, yes, Airplay is on, I am using the same Belkin router (N600 DB Wireless N+) that I have been using for the past 6 months and up until (3) days ago when both ATV devices did not recognize the HomeSharing without any changes to that router. The only thing that has changed in the last 3 days is the updates on the ATV devices and the updates to I-Tunes. I have signed off both the HomeSharing and my I-Tunes account and then signed back in on both. I have also rebooted the modem, router, computer and I-Tunes several times.

My ATV device both show the stongest signal available and the both recognize everything else available - Netflix, Hulu, I-Tunes radio and the other 25 icons that show up when you sign on. The only thing it does not show is HomeSharing ???

I just came off the phone with ASUS - my router treats the 2.4G and the 5G as separate networks. The wired LAN is also separate . No way to combine them. My choices are either connect Apple TV on another wired Port or install a wireless adapter to the desktop and connect through the 5G. I might just use iCloud for my music....$$$. Can I just do Home Sharing with the iPad2 and Apple TV?.

I tried using only the 2.4G no luck. Then, I had the Apple TV connected on the wired LAN, still it was not seen by the computer. This confirms that the problem is not related to the computer since I could see the printer and my NAS Unit that was connected by LAN. I am restoring the Apple TV to factory defaults now and start all over again ! I am giving this another day or two before returning it. Can't think of what else to check.

Here is an update:

I did a restore of the Apple TV, removed ITunes and re-install. I also removed the Internet Security Software and re-activated Windows Firewall. I found it easier to turn Windows Firewall on/off if I need to. The iTunes diagnostic confirmed that the network is ok and that Itunes is Allowed by the firewall. However, the Apple TV is still not connected to ITunes on my Desktop. ITunes confirms that sharing is enabled , but no connections. One change though - Airplay works between my iPhone 4S, iPad2 and the Apple TV, so these 3 devices can see each other on the network. Tonight I am going to restore my Router (ASUS RT-N660U) and see what else. Will appreciate contribution from anyone using the same Router.
