Q: I go to verify information being backed up into the Cloud, but it is not there.  I manually click Backup under Cloud, and the phone seems to be backing up, but when I go into the cloud on my computer, nothing is in contacts or notes, nothing.

I am having trouble backing up my I-Phone 4 to the Cloud.  I just got the new I-Phone 5S and want to transfer all information and apps to the new phone.  I manually click backup on my I-Phone 4 and it then begins backing up, however, once it is done, I look in the Cloud on my computer to verify it backed up and nothing is there.  Help!!

iPhone 4, iOS 7

    Hi erik,

Under Settings>iCloud, do you have all of the options for iCloud sync checked? (Mail, Calendars, Notes, Photos, etc.)?

When you look at Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, and you click your iPhone 4, what do you see listed as being backed up?

    Cheers,

iCloud backups can not be accessed directly. They camn only be restored.

If you are unsure, backup via iTunes too and do not wipe the old phone until the new is restored.

You can view that a backup is present here:
iCloud - Settings > iCloud > Storage & backup > Manage Store > You should see your devive backup, select for details

    iTunes -

Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/ (Note: The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your home folder, Option-click the Go menu.)

Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\ (Note: To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, and choose Run. Type %appdata% and click OK.)

Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\ (Note: To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata% and press the Return key.)

Hi Gail, I didn't have Mail & Notes clicked on.  Is that the reason why contacts and calendar is not being backed up

Well, to the best of my knowledge, if you have Contacts and Calendars turned on in iCloud on your device, then they should be pushed to iCloud and should be visible in iCloud.com.

Just to make sure, you are on Wifi, right? You need to have a Wifi connection for iCloud backups to occur.

Also, do you have iTunes running on your computer? If you do, then have you considered backing up your 4s to iTunes and then setting up your new phone via iTunes? If you do go that route, be sure to check all of the Device Profile pages (once you hook up your 4s) to make sure you have everything set up to back up to iTunes correctly.

Here's a support article that provides information about both types of backups. See if this helps:
