iphone will not go to sleep anymore

Now that I have upgraded to ios7, my iPhone does not go to sleep when I am not using it anymore which runs the battery down quite quickly. What can I do?

The first two steps of user troubleshooting are a restart and a reset. Restart, hold the sleep/wake button down until you get the Slide to Power Off screen. Slide to power off, then using the sleep/wake button again, power the phone up. If that doesn't help, the next step is a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release The phone will reboot. This should correct your problems. Also look in Settings>General>Auto-Lock and make sure there is a setting checked there.

That answers your problem. Auto-lock being on never is why the screen will not turn off anymore. It has to be set to one of the time limits for the screen to go to sleep. Otherwise, you would have to put it to sleep yourself by pressing the sleep/wake button manually. The fastest way to have it go to sleep after use is to set it to 1 minute. Sorry about earlier, but my assumption was that you had a time setting for auto-lock.

Don't worry about the backup since the auto-lock setting was your problem.
