please help.. i need to sync my phone to my imac and its saying i need to get itunes 11.1 but i have no idea how to go about this as my imac is older and still runs on snow leopard i believe. i need to get 10.6.8 or better... does that require a new imac? or can i just upgrade the sofware... is this an internet download or a future shop type purchase and install..?

To be able to answer that we need to know the Model Mac that you have and what version of OS X is running on it now. You can find both in the Apple menu, About this Mac.
If you are running a version of OS X Snow Leopard, download and install this update combo.
OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 v1.1 update combo

Then download and install the new version of iTunes;
