AirPlay problems with OS 7

I recently updated to OS 7 on my iPhone 5, and Airplay isn't functioning properly now. The icon is there and I can get it to connect to my Apple TV to mirror, but the mirroring switches off about three minutes after I hit the lock screen button. So music shuts off, Watch Apps like ESPN shut off, etc unless the phone screen is active. Any suggestions?
