Q: AVI file will play on Quick Time?

I have an AVI formatted movie file that will not play on Quick Time Player. I have all of the codecs available for the player despite the fact that AVI is natively supported format on Quick Time. Any advice?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2009), Mac OS 10.7.5

Conversion may be the solution. You can get the video converting software here fo to convert your avi files to quicktime mov files: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/video-mate/id592736614?mt=12
