Q: May i connect my airport extreme to my cable modem wirelessly ?

I bought an AE to extend the range of my current wifi modem, i think that i can connect the AE wirelessly but i cant setup it in that way because the manuals only talk about an ethernet connection between the modem and the AE, somebody can help me to do it wirelessly or it is not possible in that way ?

Sorry, but you will not be able to extend the wireless range of your combination modem/wireless router with any of the Apple base stations as the two are not compatible for this feature. Your only option with the existing networking hardware is to interconnect them by Ethernet, and then, configure them both for a roaming network.

One option would be to get an AirPort Express base station. You can then connect the Extreme to the modem by Ethernet, and then, configure the Express to extend the wireless range of the Extreme. This would entail a wireless connection between the Extreme and the Express. In this configuration you will also want to disable the wireless on the modem as it would conflict with the Extreme's.
