Reset 1st generation iPad to factory default settings

What is the best way to clear my old 1st generation iPad to the factory settings. I have just purchased a new iPad 2, 4th generation.

Go into the settings and 'erase all content and settings'

This restores your device to the out of box state.

If you have any info on there you want to keep, you will want to do a full sync and backup before you wipe it.
