Keynote remote pairing

My iPhone and MacBook Pro are on the same wifi network, I'm following the instructions and my phone does not show up in the remote preferences window. So, I have nothing to click on to pair the devices. Suggestions?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)
