I can see subscribed calendars from iCal in iOS, but no events. Tips?

I have a couple of subscribed calendars, subscribed from iCal on OS X Mountain Lion and set to iCloud. I see them on iOS 7 - but without events. Any ideas to get them to sync events too?

Turned out that turning off iCloud on them and then turn it back again triggered syncing of events. Brilliant!?!
