Q: itunes won't open
Hi,
For the past few weeks iPhoto will not open.
Am given message on screen that it is either unusable or in use by another user. Advice onscreen is to shut down, restart and hold down 'command' and 'control' keys then tick the relevant boxes to build thumbnails, which I have done on numerous occassions after which I get the original message about Iphoto being unusable or in use by another user. I get this message too when I try to restore from Time Machine.
Any help would be much appreciated.
PS problem began when I had my iphone connected and was uploading photos.
Thank you

These are your options:
1. Restore the iPhoto library from the most recent backup that predates the issue.
2. Repair or rebuild the library.
3. Scavenge the library with iPhoto Library Manager independently of iPhoto (Library ▹ Rebuild). Books, calendars, and slideshows won't be preserved.
