Blurred out background text effect

Hello,

I have a question about how to do a text effect ive seen before, sort of an our of focus background with the text transparent and infocus. Something similar to what you see in this thumbnail of this video. I'm not sure if it can even be done in FCP, and if it cant I just want to know what it would be called so I can try to find a tutorial elsewhere! Thanks!

Right click the fill layer on V3 to make it use the text on V2 as a matte...

You can achieve something similar with a text generator in FCP called

Outline Text. Simply reduce the border width to 0 and add an image of your choice to

the image well provived. You can also use blend modes indeed to further refine

the final look.

If you wanted to have moving images through the body of the text then

you need to include a bit of code in the fxscript, which will allow you to

implement any video clip you want.

I'll do that for you if you need that.
