Jun 9, 2014 1:48 PM in response to MrTrueby r_hdz,I tried restoring several times with no luck. I cleaned my sims card..no luck. I went to get a new sims card and still didnt work. After several days and several attempts at different things I gave up. I ended up getting a replacement ipad 2 since my company paid for it.
This is very frustrated since my ipad worked perfectly until the upgrade. I know its a hardware issue but Apple blamed it on the hardware.

Jun 24, 2014 2:44 PM in response to r_hdzby Thor Prichard,You know how you're suppose to troubleshoot the obvious first? (Like plugging it in, etc.) Turns out, I hadn't done this. :-) My SIM card was deactivated and without a data plan from AT&T. The message "No SIM" was the misleading problem...
I was able to fix this by checking the status of my data account with AT&T from my computer and ordering a new data plan. Here's how:- Put your "No SIM" iPad into Airplane Mode.
- Go here: att.com/ipadlanding (from your iPhone or desktop/laptop computer)
- Login with your iPad AT&T account (normally accessed via Settings > Cellular Data > View Account which no longer works because "No SIM").
- Purchase a new data plan from AT&T.
- Wait 3-5 minutes. (This way, AT&T updates their network to say the SIM is legit again.)
- Turn off Airplane Mode in your iPad. Within a few seconds, mine was working again just fine.

Jul 22, 2014 9:32 AM in response to Thor Prichardby kpdii,I went to ATT and got a new SIM, same issues others were having, I can get it to come on sometimes, others not. It does appear Apple is completely ignoring this issue

Jul 23, 2014 11:04 PM in response to Thor Prichardby thegurufromgirdwood,Thanks for the help, this totally fixed the issue. Seems that if your data plan is not currently active the sim card is shut off. I think the software update allows it to be shut off making it appear that there is no sim card in the iPad.

Jul 27, 2014 5:36 PM in response to Zeidan80by Mamaro123,previous fix by removing card, disabling services, resetting network settings only worked for few days. Then I read article that if upgrade is available for your OS,do it only via iTunes connecting to computer via cable.
I got notification about next available patch, connected iPad to computer and downloaded upgrade. Problem fix immediately.
