Just put in a call to Apple. This is a "known issue"--something with the server is impacting calendars; they are working on it as we speak and it is expected to take a few days to completely push through update. They expect that it should automatically change back to the way it was in a few days.

Having said that, keep calling and reporting to make sure it does get fixed ASAP.

Same thing here. It's driving me insane. iCal has now changed most of my calendars to purple and changes them back again after I fix it. Do something Apple!

Fixed mine before upcoming update. Apple is making a drastic change to the calendar color. Colors are being taken out and replaced by 13 shades of grey...problem solve!!! not waiting anymore...:)

Does anyone have an update from Apple acknowledging this software problem or are we all just talking to one another?  I agree it is quite annoying.

I figured out ONE thing in reference to all of our issues with iCal.  The color issue is CONFINED to the TWO original list "home" and "work".  When I create NEW list, the colors with hold.

Also I have learned that once I TRANSFER all my info off the lists that will not hold colors to a "new list" you CANNOT delete the lists that WILL NOT HOLD the colors.

So a temporary fix would be ....

    1) Make a "new calendar" to the color you want

    2) Export the calendar that you CANNOT keep the color you want

    3) Import the "exported list" to the new calendar

You will still be stuck with the TWO CALENDARS that will not hold the colors you want, but you can de-selected them and not have to deal with them on your iCal,.

Have been using same colors for my calendar last 8 years. And now I'm experiencing the same problem Apple please fix it!!!!

  • daviderighi Level 1 Level 1

I still want my blue calendar !!!

  • jj75 Level 1 Level 1

Hi Daviderighi. I'm totally with you! Apple took away my nice blue calendar in exchange for some pink one. I want it back too. It is super annoying!!

    Please fix apple!

  • jontasaurus Level 1 Level 1

I already have a personal calendar in pink/purple.  Now iCal has decided to change my work calendar from blue to the same pink/purple so I have 2 completely separate calendars showing up in the same colour meaning they aren't immediately distinguishable from one another.

More annoyingly this forum has been going for almost a week with regular comments about the same problem form disgruntled users without any acknowledgement or customer service from the people at Apple.  Sort it out.

Same issue. Same frustration. Apple please sort this out soon.

I have found a Work Around.....

The color issue is CONFINED to the TWO ORIGINAL CALENDARS "home" and "work".  When I create NEW calendars, the colors with hold.

Also I have learned that once I TRANSFER all my info off the calenders that will not hold colors to a "new calendar" everything will work.  I then just DELETE OFF the two calendars that keep changing colors.

So here is a step by step fix ....

    1) Make a "new calendar" and select the color you want

    2) Export the calendar that you CANNOT keep the color you want to your desktop

    3) Import the "exported calendar" to the new calendar

    4) Then DELETE the calendars that KEEP changing colors.

    5) Rename your NEW CALENDAR back to the way you want it.

This has SOLVED all my problems.

I appreciate your time an effort figuring out a work around but where is APPLE?  This is nuts!  I would even be happy in someone from Apple would get on this discussion and chime in to let us all know that they are in accuality working on it.

  • kenstrong Level 1 Level 1

Excellent solution Coach! I was able to perform this in a matter of a couple minutes on both of my primary calandars and it appears to have completely fixed the problem. Thanks!!
