why is my iCal changing calendar colors? when i change it back it changes it again. help!

I have been having the same issue - it started this on my "work" and "personal" calendars. Apple - what's up? Fix this, please.

Same thing is happening for me. I have no idea what is happening but it is really annoying.

I'm having the same problem. I have several calendars, some shared and I usually sort by looking at color. Now it's changed my main calendar to blue (used to be pink). I tried changing it to back to pink and it keeps changing back to blue. It's very frustrating! I've been having the same problems with 2 of my shared calendars also.

I hope Apple gets this resolved soon.

Same problem, and multiple posts by others with ZERO response by Apple.

Same thing happened a couple of months ago and is happening to me again. There was no "fix" and it appears to be something to do with iCloud, however it was fixed a couple of days after it emerged. My advice; complain loudly and hope Apple hear sand fixes it again. It is annoying and frustrating though.

Same problem here and tried to initiate a "chat" with support with no success. Hey Apple, what's up?

I have exactly the same problem. Just started happening today, where it has previously been working fine for over 12 months. I have 6 calendars that are synced with iCloud and several are shared with other people. Four of the six keep snapping back to totally different (and useless) colours, no matter how many times I change them back.

Very annoying!

Just to ask a question - Are the colors you are choosing the Standard colors? Or are you defining your own?

I have tried both. Initially I tried standard colours, and they changed back. Then I tried some of my own colours and they also changed back!

Interestingly, if I try to change the colours on iCloud using the web interface, they snap back immediately to their "preferred" colour. That is, you edit the calendars, click on the colour button, select green (for example), and it imediately snaps back to purple. Same happens if you choose your own colour or use a standard one.

Same problem, on iPhone, iPad, MacBook, MacMini....

This is happening to me as well. It did happen a few months ago, but magically the problem disappeared. Hope for some more magic I guess.

same here on all devices. also in the "busycal" app (which i use). and also on www.icloud.com, colors just snap back to default after changing them. the problem seems to be in the servers and not in the apps.

It appears from comments here and elsewhere there are a few consistents:

1.) Happens across apple platform and is rooted at Apple's servers; which I guess should serve as a warning in this NSA sniffing New Age.

2.) The default color is pink/purple.

3.) The change is usually (??) to the first calendar.

Is this true for everyone else?

I am having exactly the same problem as chris2911 describes. Also involved for me, however, are the colors of my To Do lists, and somehow a To Do list I had never created appeared in my list of email accounts rather than To Do lists and co-opted entries from another list, or several lists, hard to tell...But I now have a To Do list called "Where to go." Hmmmm. I've tried changing the To Do list colors, which I can, but they aren't the same as they were, and my main calendar keeps reverting to that pink/purple color as described. I am still using ios 6 on my iphone and ipad, but mac book pro retina is up-to-date with 10.8.5, but the problem started before I did my software update earlier today. Thanks for any light you can shed...Apple?
