Adding Ricoh Printer

I am trying to connect my MacBook Pro running Mac OS X 10.7.5 to a networked Ricoh Aficio MP C3501 printer. The printer is visable from my mac, however attempts to automatically install software, each time unsecsessfully. I have installed the latest driver for the mac. Is there a way to by pass Mac's auto attempt at software update, or an alternate way to install the printer.
