My MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010) crashes and dies every few minutes, The screen gets black?

I bought a Mac because of its reputation for reliability. Is this normal??

It's not normal - albeit a known problem for some.

You may have the issue mentioned there.

Take it to an Apple store, show them the panic log & the article above - they should run a simple pass/fail test.

since even if it fails the test, you may need to persevere.
