Q: After IOS 7 upgrade, I cannot i-message or FaceTime.

Please help, I am at my wits end! I upgraded to IOS 7 last week. Since the upgrade, I discovered that anybody who already upgraded, cannot send me a text message unless they turn their i-message off. I cannot Face Time either. My imessage just states the following: ...waiting for activation. When I try to activate it, I receive an error message stating ...Could not sign in. Check your network connection and try again.

I went to Apple and they stated that phone must be reset, by first backing up phone and then ...to erase all content and settings. I tried that but my phone will NOT ERASE. I now get this message while trying to erase it...There was a problem deregistering this iphone with icloud. Try erasing this iPhone again.

I have now done this several times to no avail. I also checked icloud settings to make sure all was good there.

CAN ANYONE POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION? I want to throw this phone away!!!!

I have the exact same problem! Have you found a fix yet ?

Did you notice that if you access your Find My Iphone on Icloud.com it says No devices? I am 100% that i set it up before! ( obviously because i have turned on my FIND MY IPHONE on the device.

I also have a photo of the error message posted. My phone is utterly useless and has been for 3 days. Want to get rid of it badly.

I fixed this myself last night.

I put my phone into recovery mode and restored the device like it was a brand new phone.

To put in discovery mode, plug the phone into the usb cable and not the computer. Turn off the phone. Hold down the home button until the phone turns on and keep holding the button. Plug the USB into the computer, and a icon that says itunes will pop up on the phone.

Eventually the computer will say I detected a Iphone in recovery mode would you like to continue.

Click yes.

Be sure to back up your phone prior to starting. If my directions above are wrong in anyway, just google iphone recovery mode.
