Can't stream iTunes to iPhone 4

Thanks for reading this and any help you may be able to give. I can stream music from my iTunes library, stored on a windows PC, to work fine but I can't do the same in my iPhone 4. They are all connected to the same network, but iPhone just keeps skipping to the next track until the end I the album. The iPad works fine and every track plays. I have read on other forum posts that some people can't play tracks at all but nothing about only playing on selected devices. Anyone got any ideas how to resolve this issue?
