I can't even contact support without the product serial # and it's no place to be seen on the exterior of this USB superdrive. The packaging is long gone. This site doesn't provide instructions for finding the number on this specific product.
It's Catch 22 -- I'm unable to reach out to support for help finding the serial number for the precise reason that I can't find the serial number.
Any ideas?

My Apple USB Superdrive has its serial number on side of the aluminum case just under the USB cable. I may have a later superdrive.

Mine also has a number there, but when I enter it into Apple's system I get the following error message:
We're sorry, but this serial number is not valid. Please check your information and try again:
(I've tried several times interchanging 0 and O so I can be sure I haven't made a typo).

You can still get to service via phone without the serial number, just go around same during the prompts. youll at least need proof somewhere of when / where you bought it for service etc. 😊
