Spam filter cuts off all mail

Hi,

Well, I finally went live with our new ML server, and while it seems like everything is working OK, I'm seeing a lot of strange things in the logs. I'll ask about some of those in another thread.

Anyway, the real time zen spamhaus seems to be working fine.

But if I turn on the spam filter, it doesn't let ANY mail through, even on the lowest setting.

Can anybody help here? Thanks!

Hi Linc,

Do you have an idea what I need to look for? All the logs in there are for the last 2 days when the filter was only turned on momentarily to test it.

There's lots of interesting stuff in there, like this :

(!!)TROUBLE in pre_loop_hook: SECURITY PROBLEM, ABORTING at /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/bin/amavisd line 11420.

And this:

(!!)FATAL: Directory of a config file "/Library/Server/Mail/Config/amavisd/amavisd.conf" is writable (confirmed), UID 83, EUID 83, EGID 83 83 12 61 403 405

Hey Linc,

It looks like it IS working. I guess that did it.

Mail gets through now, but I'll tell everybody to pay special attention to make sure they get everything they expect. I have it set for cautious.

Thanks so much for your help with this fix!

One other thing on the subject. Now that it's on, is there a way to define what happens to the mail that gets snagged like we could in SL, or does it just get rejected? I can just hear my boss now complaining that it caught some special email he was expecting, with no way to find it.

Thanks again for all your help,

Scott
