I have an extensive collection of music stored on my external hard drive.
Since purchasing a Mac Book Pro and becoming an iTunes user i am unable to process all WMA files into iTunes.
Is there an application from Apple that can solve this issue for me?

No.
You can use -> Switch Audio converter
Also, if you still have access to a Windows computer you can import the WMA files into iTunes and it will convert them to whatever format you have set as the default.

Note this only works for non-DRM files.
